Research Fellow in Behaviour Change

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Melbourne Centre for Behaviour Change! We are seeking to appoint a research fellow who can assist in developing self-assessment and self-guided behaviour-change interventions to improve users’ health and well-being. Individuals with training in psychology or decision-making science would be most suitable but candidates with training in related social science disciplines could also be suitable.

The successful applicant will contribute to research within an NHMRC-funded Centre of Excellence (CRE) in “Interactive Digital Technology to Transform Australia’s Chronic Disease Outcomes” and will have to opportunity to work with other researchers involved in the CRE including those working on behaviour change, computer science, and the development of digital interventions.

PhD position-Conceptualising and Measuring Digital Emotion Regulation

The Opportunity
The University of Melbourne invites applications for a fully funded full-time PhD position in “Conceptualising and Measuring Digital Emotion Regulation” starting in 2020. The research will be conducted by the Human-Computer Interaction group in the School of Computing and Information System. This is a multidisciplinary project, funded by the Australian Research Council, that seeks to
investigate whether and how people use technology to change their emotional states. The project involves experts from Computer Science and Psychology.

The Opportunity
The Future Health Today Program is offering a PhD scholarship for an exceptional and talented candidate who is interested in undertaking a PhD project centred around cardiovascular disease & general practice within the Future Health Today (FHT) program. A partnership between the Department of General Practice, University of Melbourne and Western Health, the FHT program focusses on optimising the detection and management of chronic disease in general practice, facilitating evidence-based care and improved patient outcomes through the use of technology. If you are health care professional with an interest in the management of cardiovascular disease in the primary care setting and are interested in pursuing a career in research this may be the opportunity you have been looking for. Whilst the final project will be negotiated with the successful applicant, it is anticipated that this project will involve implementation science and use quantitative and qualitative methodologies. It will include the development and implementation of a cardiovascular disease quality improvement platform as part of the larger Future Health Today program.
Candidate requirements
Successful applicants will have an excellent academic track record and experience in general practice, implementation science or health services research in the Australian context.
